From first step to last session:
what journey awaits you?
Starting therapy takes courage. Keeping the process transparent makes that decision easier. Here is a step-by-step guide to what you can expect.
First Contact
You reach out via WhatsApp or email. A short message is enough — "I'd like to book an appointment" is more than sufficient as a starting point.
Book an Appointment
We have a brief call by phone or online. During this call we discuss which psychologist to recommend, which approach suits you and your general expectations. There is no commitment whatsoever.
Initial Assessment Session (50 min)
You meet your psychologist in person or online. This is an "assessment" session: the psychologist listens to better understand you and your reason for coming. You also have the opportunity to assess the psychologist and their approach. You don't need to share anything you're not ready to.
Personal Therapy Plan
After the assessment, your psychologist proposes a working plan tailored to you. This plan includes your goals, the chosen method and an estimated number of sessions. The plan is a framework — it can flex according to your needs.
Regular Sessions
You typically continue with one 50-minute session per week. Fortnightly sessions may be more suitable for some clients. Each session builds on the last; the process is cumulative.
Completion & Beyond
Therapy doesn't last forever. When goals are reached or needs diminish, we conclude sessions. The ending is a conscious process where the final session is planned in advance. The end of therapy is itself part of healing.
