About Us

A small psychology centre
in Famagusta

We are licensed psychologists working with individuals, couples and families. Sessions are held in Turkish or English, in person or online.

How we work

We don't think a person can be explained by any single theory. So we draw on different schools of psychotherapy, and decide together which way of working fits the subject at hand.

We try to take up what you tell us not through symptoms alone, but together with the circumstances you're in. Everyone's story, relationships and feelings are their own.

We don't see therapy as a process that hands out ready-made solutions. We see it as work that opens room for a person to understand themselves and what they've been through.

What we aim to be is a safe and open place you can turn to when you need it.

Gökçe İnce

Clinical Psychologist

Psychodynamic psychotherapy Emerging adulthood Adults

Completed an undergraduate degree in the Department of Psychology at Eastern Mediterranean University and a master's degree in the Clinical Psychology programme at Maltepe University. Clinical supervision is complete, and professional development continues through training and supervision in scientifically grounded psychotherapy approaches.

Has gained experience with different age groups and in different working environments. Worked for many years as a psychologist at the Eastern Mediterranean University Psychological Counselling, Guidance and Research Centre (EMU-PDRAM), and also provided therapy at Yaşam Hospital.

Works mainly with emerging adulthood and with adults. In the therapy process, the aim is to accompany individuals as they come to understand the emotional, relational and psychological difficulties they meet in their lives, and as they explore more closely the bond they have with themselves, with their relationships and with their lives.

Draws primarily on the psychodynamic psychotherapy approach. The psychodynamic approach focuses on understanding a person's present emotional and relational difficulties together with their past experiences, inner world and the relational patterns formed over time. Alongside this, other psychotherapy approaches are drawn on as well, taking into account each individual's needs, life story and circumstances; the therapy process is structured around the person, allowing for eclectic work. Importance is placed on bringing scientific knowledge and clinical experience together within a safe, ethical and collaborative therapeutic relationship.

Works in Turkish and English, in person and online.

Yaprak Parlan Yeşilovalı

Psychologist, MSc

Cognitive behavioural therapy Children Adolescents Adults

Completed undergraduate studies in Applied Psychology and Criminology at the University of Brighton in England and in Psychology at Eastern Mediterranean University, and a master's degree in Developmental Psychology at EMU. Completed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy training for adults at the Beck Institute, and for children and adolescents within a programme accredited by the Turkish Association for Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapies. Professional development continues through current training and supervision.

Works with children, adolescents and adults, keeping in view the needs and life experiences particular to each developmental period.

Professional experience extends across academia, civil society and psychotherapy services. Worked as a lecturer in the EMU Department of Psychology and as a psychologist at the EMU Psychological Counselling, Guidance and Research Centre (EMU-PDRAM). Worked at SOS Children's Village with children who had lost parental care and with their caregivers, and developed and ran psychoeducation and counselling work with children, adolescents, young people, women and educators at various civil society organisations.

In the therapy process, importance is placed on understanding the difficulty a person is living with not only as a symptom or a problem, but within the whole of their life. Developmental characteristics, life story, relationships and social environment are considered together. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is the main approach drawn on, alongside other psychotherapy approaches according to the individual's needs. Therapy is approached as a safe and collaborative process in which the individual can express themselves as they are, and which opens space for thinking, understanding and change together.

Works in Turkish and English, in person and online.
